Calculate your dosage based on 0.2 to 0.3 grams of sodium bicarbonate per kilogram of bodyweight. Divide this dosage into two servings: one taken two hours before exercise and one taken an hour before.
Note: Sodium bicarbonate contains sodium (salt). High amounts of sodium intake can cause side effects, including gastrointestinal distress. To avoid this, reduce sodium intake from other sources while using sodium bicarbonate.
